Description

Appreciated for its beauty and fragrance, Lauaʻe is a forest fern that was traditionally used to scent freshly-made kapa cloth, strung in pandanus leis, and used for body adornment by Kahiko hula dancers. In modern times it is used in decorative indoor foliage arrangements and in landscaping. In this woodcut print, I used the two-block reduction process of carving and printing. Handmade Japanese paper gives the original limited edition prints a natural look and feel.
