Nectar

After a hike in Kilauea Crater at Volcano I emerged up into the rainforest and watched the beautiful native birds flitting and playing in the upper canopy of the ‘Ohi’a trees. They called and chattered, zoomed and soared together, and retrieved their buddies to suck nectar from the best blossoms. I was mesmerized and charmed by their joy and playfulness as I sat watching for an eternity. I came away with an image of this Apapane and couldn’t resist adding one of my favorites, the honeybee. Printed on Rives French paper with deckle edges.
