The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.

Exploring forests, lava fields, and my farm with curiosity and a desire to know the life of the land generated inspiration for these images. I've had some fine moments lying under towering Koa trees at Volcanoes National Park, hugging   'Ohi 'a trees in rain and cloud forests, and sleeping beside a rustling Kukui tree for fifteen years. The people of Hawaii relate to and interact with the land through activities such as farming, fishing, harvesting forest plants, and through spiritual devotion such as hula, caring for sacred places, and transmitting their knowledge of the land and its gifts.
